Skin Analytics is an award-winning health tech company that works with dermatology teams to deploy world-leading skin cancer pathways using AI as a medical device, DERM. Following our recent £15M series B funding round and regulatory milestones, we are ready to scale internationally. DERM is a Class III CE-marked AI as a medical device approved to make clinical decisions autonomously in the cancer space, and we are the first company to receive a NICE recommendation for use across the NHS. DERM is deployed at more than 25 NHS organisations and we collaborate with some of the largest health insurers to reach patients in their own homes. London based - Hybrid (3 days a week in the office)
As a Mobile Engineer, you will contribute to the development of high-quality, reliable, and compliant mobile applications for our products, using React Native across iOS and Android platforms. You will play a key role in delivering clinically safe features, improving mobile architecture, and ensuring releases meet both user needs. This role will be part of our Services business unit working on products for the private medical insurers space as well as a new direct-to-consumer offering.
Responsibilities
- React Native confidence - bring React Native expertise to raise technical quality and reduce bugs/performance issues
- Mobile Architecture - work on architectural improvements to the mobile codebase
- Collaborative working - support the team in building structured, scalable mobile app patterns
- Work as part of a bridge between product ideas and compliant mobile implementation
- Champion traceability and test automation - reducing manual QA effort
- Help shape mobile CI/CD and release processes - to be repeatable, auditable, and efficient
- Review code with care - raise the bar on mobile engineering maturity
- Calm, quality-first mindset - especially when balancing delivery with safety-critical obligations
Requirements
- React Native, including hooks, navigation, styling, and performance optimisation
- Understanding of iOS and Android build systems, provisioning, certificates, and store requirements
- Proficiency with CI/CD for mobile apps using tools like Fastlane or GitHub/Bitbucket Pipelines
- Experience managing TestFlight and Play Store deployments, including internal/beta testing tracks
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and preferably end-to-end testing using tools (e.g. Appium)
- Familiarity with crash reporting and performance monitoring tools
- Strong ability to integrate with REST APIs, manage secure authentication flows, and handle offline scenarios
- Basic understanding of backend systems (e.g. Node.js, AWS) to debug issues and contribute to API design discussions
- Proficient in Git, with best practices for branching, tagging, and changelogs
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with QA, Product, and Regulatory
Skin Analytics manufactures medical devices and complies with ISO standards 13485 and 27001. As part of your employment, you will be assigned Quality Management System (QMS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS). We require that our employees agree to complete their assigned training and diligently follow all company quality management and information security processes.
Regulatory and Certifications
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has recommended DERM for use within the NHS until May 2028, while further evidence is gathered.
