Skillsoft is seeking an Account Executive Small Medium Businesses (SMB) to be responsible for proactively managing and expanding existing private sector accounts and generating new acquisition accounts through our extensive Technology & Developer (T&D) portfolio primarily focused on Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) complemented by our digital self-paced eLearning portfolio including our Percipio Learning Experience Platform (LXP) and its associated T&D Codecademy solution to deliver blended learning solutions.
Your customer base consists of customers up to 1,500 employees. You are result-oriented and you get satisfaction from achieving and exceeding targets. You may have the ambition to grow into an Enterprise sales position.
Position Responsibilities
- Drive top-line revenue growth through expansion into your existing customer base and acquisition of new customers across our comprehensive portfolio of T&D solutions across your territory.
- Sell our vast T&D solutions line directly to SMB L&D, HR, and IT Departments.
- Work alongside the entire UKI SMB and Enterprise private sector sales team.
- Own responsibility to meet and exceed revenue & sales goals.
- Win by representing a solution line with key competitive differentiators.
- Influence customers and prospects across L&D, HR, and IT departments across all seniority levels of stakeholders.
- Establish strategic plans and objectives to drive desired business growth and outcomes.
- Partner with other AEs, SMEs, and various other pre and post-sales support resources in the successful advancement of critical opportunities and customer penetration.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Global Knowledge Skillsoft’s sales plays related to Digital and Business transformation.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years successful sales experience in IT sales in a growth, acquisition, or hybrid capacity.
- Successfully delivered against annual targets/KPIs.
- Experience selling directly into IT Departments is required (L&D/HR would also be advantageous).
- A keen understanding of the steps involved in a sales cycle and ability to leverage each stage to advance the sale.
- Ability to prospect and manage a designated territory to maximize revenue growth.
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency, be aggressive, competitive, and demonstrate a positive, winning attitude.
- Negotiate effectively based on value and time to close.
- Ability to understand client requirements and to clearly articulate the company\’s offerings to develop solutions to meet those requirements.
Required Attributes
- Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience within the IT or training industry preferred.
- College Degree or equivalent in education/experience.
- A passion for Technology and for supporting customers to achieve their business objectives.
- Growth of existing customers and Acquisition of new customers sales experience preferred.
- Ability to follow established processes and provide constructive feedback on processes.
- Exhibits strong prospecting skills, growth, and hunter mentality.
- Ability to cultivate prospects.
- Easily handles objections and rejections.
- Strategy development and execution.
- Adaptability, being able to focus on what matters to the customer.
- Critical thinking.
