Rehability UK is currently recruiting support workers for their new supported living service in the heart of Bradford - John Gaffney House in BD9 area. They are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to support people with complex needs, including autism and learning disabilities. Please note that experience working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities or challenging behaviours is required for this role. Relevant personal experience will also be considered.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support in line with individual care plans and risk assessments
- Administer medication and assist with personal care as required
- Promote independence and support daily living skills
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required training
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety procedures
- Encourage social inclusion and community participation
Essential Skills:
- Clear communication using tailored methods (e.g. Makaton, PECS)
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations
- Management and de-escalation techniques
