Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen within Bradford Council’s Catering and Cleaning Services for a General Kitchen Assistant. This is a term-time only contract and is temporary for 12 months. The salary shown will be pro-rated for this part-time role of 10 hours per week. Successful candidates will get induction training, chances to progress in the organisation, and benefits provided by the Local Authority. The role is based at: Riddlesden St Mary's Primary School, Grange Road, Riddlesden, Keighley BD20 5AB. The job may involve working in other Bradford Council buildings. Main Responsibilities
- Follow hygiene rules and serve food that meets dietary, medical, or religious requirements.
- Help cook vegetables, sauces, and salads under the Chef Manager’s guidance, with training provided.
- Arrange tables and chairs, keep the service area clean, and clear trays and counters during meals.
- Present food neatly and hygienically, treating customers politely and with a friendly attitude.
- Wash and store equipment, clean the kitchen and dining areas, and assist with general cleaning tasks.
- Can read and understand written instructions (procedures, safety information, COSHH, etc.) with basic numeracy and literacy.
- Works well as part of a team with a positive and helpful attitude.
- Friendly and customer-focused when dealing with colleagues and customers.
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to support others when needed.
