NG Bailey are recruiting an Apprentice Welder. You'll work alongside experienced welders and fabricators, learning how welded assemblies are produced safely, accurately and to the highest standards. NG Bailey are the UK's largest independent engineering and services business. Their values, Passion, Integrity, Responsibility and Excellence guide everything they do. You will attend Calderdale College to complete the Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship. In addition, you will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme. This role is based at: Intercity House, Field Head Lane, Drighlington, BD11 1JL.
Main Responsibilities:
- Identify materials, read engineering drawings and prepare components for fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools and cutting equipment safely, including Plasma and Oxy-Acetylene.
- Set up and use MIG/MAG, MMA (Arc) and TIG welding equipment to produce high-quality welds.
- Assemble and check fabricated components to meet specifications and prevent defects.
- Work towards gaining welding procedure qualifications relevant to the role.
Essential Skills:
- Able to complete the apprenticeship on time, including the End-Point Assessment.
- Must have valid residency status and the right to work in England.
- Must have lived in the UK (or its territories) for at least 3 years before starting.
- Must have 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above in English, Maths and Science.
