Technical Artist

Are you an experienced technical artist with a strong command of Unity, a keen eye for mobile game aesthetics, and a passion for creating seamless player experiences? A successful and fast-growing mobile games studio is looking for a senior-level Technical Artist to help maintain a high level of polish across its titles and bring creative visions to life through strong Unity implementation. What you’ll be doing: Acting as the technical bridge between artists and programmers, translating creative assets into efficient Unity implementations Building out the Unity layer, including UI, animation, VFX and other systems, using in-house workflows Writing custom C# components when needed to manage complex visual elements Ensuring games are optimised to run smoothly on a wide range of mobile devices Creating particle effects, simple shaders, and animations as required Providing technical mentorship and support to the art team Identifying and addressing performance or asset issues within the Unity pipeline Working with the wider team to continuously improve tools and production workflows What we’re looking for: Proven experience as a Technical Artist in the mobile games industry Deep expertise in Unity and Unity UI A solid understanding of how to structure Unity projects to allow for efficient cross-disciplinary collaboration The ability to write clean and performant C# code where needed Practical experience in areas such as animation, VFX, shaders, UI and asset optimisation A thoughtful and creative approach to problem-solving Clear communication skills and experience collaborating closely with remote teams Comfortable providing technical feedback and mentoring less experienced artists Professional-level English A portfolio and/or completion of a short art test may be requested This is a team that combines the data-driven success of leading mobile developers with the creative culture of an indie studio.
