Are you a Lighting Artist looking to shape the mood and atmosphere of a next-gen open world RPG?

An award-winning AAA game studio is looking for a Lighting Artist to join the team on a highly anticipated action RPG title. Working closely with Leads, Directors, and cross-discipline teams, you’ll deliver visually stunning lighting for both open-world environments and cinematics, helping bring a rich, immersive world to life.

This is a contract position based in Royal Leamington Spa, with a hybrid work model (minimum three days onsite per week). Relocation support is available if required.

What you\’ll be doing:

  • Designing lighting for expansive open-world environments and narrative-driven cinematics
  • Creating time-of-day systems and defining atmospheric conditions across weather types
  • Collaborating with the Lighting Lead and Art Directors to deliver visuals aligned with the project’s creative vision
  • Helping to shape the player experience through lighting that enhances gameplay, mood, and storytelling

What we\’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in real-time lighting, PBR workflows, and lighting theory, demonstrated through a strong portfolio
  • Solid understanding of lighting pipelines and current-generation art techniques
  • Interest in offline 3D rendering workflows is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to adapt to feedback while meeting production deadlines

This is a chance to work with a world-class team on a major AAA IP, contributing to a visually ambitious and artistically driven title.
