We’re working with an established, independent game studio known for creating technically ambitious, creatively distinctive games enjoyed by a global audience. They’re looking for an experienced programmer to play a key role in building and maintaining the systems that support large‑scale game development.
This role sits at the heart of the development process, working closely with engineers, artists and production to ensure build and deployment pipelines are reliable, scalable and efficient across multiple platforms. You’ll be hands‑on, self‑directed, and comfortable owning complex technical problems from discovery through to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage, optimise and develop features for distributed CI and build systems
- Ensure build processes remain stable, efficient and reliable
- Communicate build issues clearly via internal tools and automated reporting
- Manage code compilation and deployment across multiple platforms
- Maintain and improve source control workflows
- Set up and maintain build and networking hardware
- Contribute to improving internal tools, plugins and asset pipelines where needed
Experience & Skills
- ~4+ years’ professional experience in a build engineering or similar role
- ~Proven experience supporting multi‑platform deployment
- ~Strong hands‑on experience with Jenkins and Docker
- ~Ability to drive work independently through to completion
- ~Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- ~Comfortable working autonomously and prioritising effectively
- ~Adaptable and responsive in a fast‑moving development environment
- ~Working knowledge of Python and/or C# is a plus
