We are seeking a Tech Bar Engineer (Contract) to deliver high-quality 2nd line technical support, providing both face-to-face and remote assistance within secure, cloud-based environments where reliability and performance are critical. You will act as an escalation point for incidents and service requests that cannot be resolved at 1st line, taking ownership through to resolution and ensuring service levels are met. This is a customer-facing role that suits someone confident working directly with users while maintaining strong technical and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 2nd line support via the Tech Bar, both onsite and remotely
  • Diagnose and resolve escalated issues across macOS, Windows, iOS and Android
  • Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Configure and support end-user hardware such as laptops, mobile devices and printers
  • Manage and support software services including MDM solutions, VPNs and Microsoft 365
  • Support onboarding, user provisioning and day-to-day technical queries
  • Escalate complex issues to 3rd line teams or external vendors while retaining ownership
  • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 27001 standards and ITIL service management processes

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a 2nd line or Tech Bar support role
  • Strong macOS support experience, with additional exposure to Windows, iOS and Android
  • Hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 services
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID and identity management
  • Experience working with ITIL-aligned service desk or ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise incidents in line with SLAs
  • Active SC Clearance, transferable

Desirable Experience

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator or Apple certifications
  • Experience with security and access management tools such as Intune, Okta, Zscaler or Workspace ONE
  • Previous experience supporting VIP or high-profile users
  • Exposure to ISO 27001 or ISO 9001 regulated environments
