We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for experienced Fire and Security engineers looking to transition into a rewarding role as a Tutor / Learner Skills Coach at our Walsall Training Centre. This is your chance to share your valuable industry experience with the next generation of engineers and play a key role in delivering commercial and industry‑recognised training to support upskilling across the wider Fire and Security sector.

Fully Funded Training

We provide comprehensive training to help you transition into this rewarding role. In addition to competitive salary with incremental uplifts on successful completion of mandatory training, performance‑related bonus, access to the company’s pension scheme and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays each year.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality training to apprentices and commercial learners, combining classroom, practical, and online delivery.
  • Deliver regulated qualifications and technical training programmes aligned with industry standards.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to help learners achieve their goals.
  • Foster an engaging learning environment while maintaining compliance with Government funding rules, Ofsted, and awarding body requirements.
  • Represent Skills for Security professionally when delivering commercial training to external clients and partners.

What We're Looking For

  • Experienced Fire & Security engineers with strong practical experience in Fire & Security Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance.
  • The ability to demonstrate and teach core industry skills with confidence.
  • A minimum of 3 years' “on the tools” experience.
  • A willingness to complete fully‑funded teaching qualifications.
  • Flexibility to travel and occasionally stay overnight (fully funded).

Desired Skills

  • Industry qualifications (FIA, FireQual, Milestone Advanced, etc.).
  • Experience supervising or teaching apprentices.
  • Great presentation and communication skills.
  • A willingness to work towards an accredited qualification e.g. Level 3 Award in Education, higher or equivalent.
