Due to significant growth, Skills for Security, the leading provider of apprenticeships to the Fire and Security sector, are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate Learner Engagement Officer to join our team on a fulltime, permanent basis.

You don’t need to have knowledge of education and apprenticeships or the fire and security sector to be successful in this role, you will receive all the training you need. The key to success, is being able to talk to people, communicate effectively and keep accurate records.
Our learners are at the heart of everything we do where consolidating and recording details of the learners progress is paramount to supporting them, and their employers. Reporting and recording comments on progress vs target, identification of best practice and areas for improvement, along with pastoral support and guidance is critical to your success within this role.
Reporting to the Lead Learning Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for a caseload of learners completing formal progress reviews, in conjunction with our sector experts, to meet regulatory compliance and support the ongoing development of our learners. You will often be the first point of contact for learners and their employers so you can expect a variety of queries and challenges which you will be supported in resolving.
Competence in the Fire and Security industry or knowledge and experience within education and/or apprenticeships is NOT required for this role.
This role can be based anywhere in the UK but must be within commutable distance to one of the centres listed below:
- Watford
- Dagenham
- Walsall
- Warrington
- Doncaster
Role requirements
- Communicate effectively with our apprentices and their employers
- Accurately record details of any and all conversations held
- Hold regular progress updates with apprentices and their employers
- Identify, report, plan and assist where learners may require any additional support
- Communicate with sector specialists to contextualise feedback and drive learner improvement
- Chase overdue interactions and work submissions
- Actively promote the requirements of apprenticeships beyond the subject area requirements
- Identify opportunities for early interventions where support is neededFollow external stipulated rules and quality requirements
- Provide first line support and effective signposting for learners and employers
- Drive the overall quality of education
- Exam invigilation
