As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will support the safe, effective and lawful supply of medicines while working closely with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team. This role is for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.
Key responsibilities
- Managing, ordering, receiving, and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately.
- Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate.
- Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance.
- Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role.
- Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff.
- Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services, and responding to feedback.
Qualifications required
- GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential; can be provided as part of the course.
- For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
