We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Qualifications: GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course. For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.
Training: Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.
Responsibilities: As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service. Key duties include:
- Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
- Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
- Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
- Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
- Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service
Requirements:
- A genuine interest in healthcare and working with people
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Basic IT skills
No previous pharmacy experience is required; full training is provided.
Apprenticeship Details: Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship. Duration: Typically 15 months. Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning. Apprentices must be able to commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours.
