About the Role

We are recruiting a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This apprenticeship will develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, order, receive and supply medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately.
  • Provide patient‑centred advice on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate.
  • Support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new members of staff.
  • Maintain high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs at A‑C or 4‑9 in Maths and English, or equivalent. Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent can be provided as part of the course.
  • For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 qualifications, completion of initial Maths and English tests will be required.

Skills and Personal Qualities

  • Keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Previous experience in the pharmacy industry or a similar setting.
  • Good communication and customer‑service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to the full length of the apprenticeship and working hours.

Training Provided

Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level). Training is delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job.

Future Prospects

Upon successful completion you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and may be offered full‑time employment. The apprenticeship also develops transferable skills valuable in the wider world of work.
