Skills People Group has Training Academies in Nottingham, Derby, Worksop, Sheffield, Rotherham, Manchester and Doncaster. In addition, there are head offices in Sheffield and Chesterfield. Training is delivered nationally with bespoke venues.
We employ approximately 200 staff and associates and deliver training to over 10,000 learners annually.

We are currently recruiting for a highly organised, part qualified accountant to join our existing team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the bank and cash function including reconciliations, receipts and supplier payments
- Prepare internal payroll and pension function, ensuring salaries and deductions are processed accurately
- Record financial transactions accurately and provide reports when required
- Preparation of the quarterly VAT return
- Assist in analysing financial data and reconciling discrepancies
- Assist the finance team with ad hoc projects
Qualifications and Experience
- Part-qualified accountant or QBE with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance role
- Prior experience processing staff payroll
- Fully fluent using Microsoft Excel
- Accurate with acute attention to detail
- Organised with a pro‑active approach and strong communication skills
- Fluent level of both spoken and written English
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working with Sage 200
- Construction sector experience
- Training sector experience
Educational Requirements
- Educated to a minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths or equivalent
- Part Qualified Accountant with a qualification from an institution such as:
- Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA)
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
- Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA)
- Fully AAT Qualified or Qualified through extensive experience

Location and Reporting
- You will report to the Head of Finance
- You will be based at Unit 1, The Bridge Business Centre, Beresford Way, Chesterfield, S41 9FG for a minimum of 2 days per week with Hybrid working options available
