Skills for Care is the strategic workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England. We work with employers, Government and partners to ensure social care has the right people, skills and support required to deliver the highest quality care and support now and in the future.

It is an exciting new phase for Skills for Care; we've just started a new 3–5-year contract with the DHSC and are two years into the implementation of the Workforce Strategy as well as developing new commercial opportunities. As part of the senior leadership team, this role provides the opportunity to oversee delivery and implementation of a range of key outputs, contributing towards the future direction of the organisation in a period of significant change.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong complex programme management background, with significant experience of working in adult social care in England. As Head of Workforce Delivery, you'll play a central role in the deployment of our subject expertise to the key deliverables as a critical business lead for our DHSC contract as well as supporting commercial activity and recommendations in the Workforce Strategy.

Your focus will be leading a team of Professional/National Leads with a range of specific subject expertise covering adult social care as a whole, including but not limited to registered professionals, commissioners, delegated healthcare, developments and innovations in social care practice. You will be a strong leader, with the ability to work cross-organisationally, taking responsibility and accountability for a key business area, and demonstrating strong people management skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a breadth of transferable experience as well as a proven track record in transformation and change management who enjoys people, contract, and financial management. We are particularly keen to speak to candidates who are immediately available or with shorter notice periods; however, this is not a requirement for applying for this post. It is important to us that we find the right candidate for the post.

At Skills for Care, we are committed to creating a culture of Belonging, where all of our People are able to contribute to their full potential. All our People are expected to contribute towards the achievement of our aspirations for equality, equity, diversity and inclusion. At Skills for Care, we want our People to be representative of the society we support, which includes all equality characteristics such as age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief. This lived experience from a diverse group of people helps us with all the work that we do and ultimately supports the social care sector to provide the best quality care. We encourage applications from, but not limited to, people from minoritised ethnic backgrounds, people who identify as LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities. Candidates will always be selected based on experience and potential.

Information about reasonable adjustments: We want all applicants to be able to fully participate in our selection processes. We welcome requests for adjustments to our recruitment and selection processes from applicants with disabilities, impairments, or health conditions, and will always consider support available in the recruitment process. Please contact our People Team via email to discuss any adjustments that you may need.
