Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior – Accountancy Practice
St Albans, Hertfordshire (Hybrid/Office Based)

Our client, an Accountancy practice based in St Albans is currently looking to recruit an ambitious Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior to join their growing team. Study Support offered, whether you are looking to continue with an Apprenticeship through a new employer, or direct Employer support - It\'s easier than you think! The firm will take care of this for you!
The Role
You will take on a varied role, including:
- Preparation of statutory and management accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
- Drafting corporation tax returns and assisting with personal tax matters
- Supporting senior staff on statutory, voluntary and grant audit assignments — both in-office and at client premises
- Planning and performing audit fieldwork under supervision
- Regular liaison with clients, external accountants, bookkeepers, and solicitors
- Ensuring compliance with audit and financial reporting standards
- Identifying and escalating issues to managers where appropriate
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice environment
- Exposure to both audit and accounts preparation
- AAT qualified or actively studying ACA/ACCA
- Strong technical knowledge, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Salary is very much personal to you! Depending on your experience, how far you are into your exams, as a rough guide this would start at £30,000 – £36,000, increased for somebody closer to qualification
