Overview The Flavourist plays a key role in flavour development, innovation, flavour library management, and supporting commercial growth by delivering creative and technically robust flavour solutions in response to customer briefs. Working closely with customers, application technologists, production teams, suppliers, and cross-functional colleagues, the Flavourist will develop flavours that meet both customer expectations and business objectives. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of raw materials, flavour applications, production processes, regulatory requirements, analytical techniques, and sensory evaluation. They will also contribute to the continuous improvement of flavour development through experimentation, market awareness, and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Independently develop flavour formulations in line with customer requirements and business objectives. Lead flavour development projects from concept through to completion. Explore and evaluate new ingredients and technologies. Create innovative flavour solutions for sweet food and beverage applications. Present technical flavour solutions to customers and participate in customer meetings and workshops. Mentor and support junior members of the flavour creation team. Compound and process flavour samples to support development projects. Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory testing of flavour formulations. Support flavour matching and duplication projects in collaboration with analytical teams. Ensure compliance with relevant flavour regulations and labelling requirements.
