About our Client: Our client is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation, programmed T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer.
Role Summary:
The Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining specialist laboratory, analytical equipment, and facility installations to support our Research & Development, Process Development and Translational team at MediaWorks. The engineer will be primarily responsible for equipment breakdown repairs & ongoing maintenance work of laboratory & analytical equipment and associated utility systems. They will help develop engineering processes and systems including asset management, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete a daily health check of laboratory equipment and monitoring systems and ensure non-compliances are reported and dealt with in a timely manner.
- Provide first fix responding, diagnostics repair & improving equipment at MediaWorks, and hand back the equipment in a safe, reliable, and compliant state.
- Respond to CAPA actions to ensure timely close out of all Quality issues associated with Engineering and Facilities.
- Support equipment validation as needed.
- Support control and monitoring systems.
- Deliver improvement projects related to control and instrumentation as needed.
- Act as main point of contact on assigned external service providers and manage their deliverables on behalf of the engineering team.
- Maintain the asset care plan up to date, and ensure suppliers and contractors are booked in advance to attend site to maintain, calibrate, repair equipment.
- Manage contractors on site, monitor, manage and review activities and subsequent paperwork and reports and archive accordingly into the engineering library.
- Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance using manuals and failure history to develop preventative tasks.
- Maintain and record reactive and planned maintenance records on to the CMMS and engineering library.
- Provide operator training as necessary.
- Provide liaison with Media Works engineering & building management team to ensure activities are performed effectively & safely and to address equipment and facility issues that impact operations at MediaWorks.
- Own, manage and admin assigned engineering systems as needed.
- Provide engineering support for wider project activities within the teams.
- Provide in house cleaning, calibration, and maintenance activities for equipment (e.g. flow cytometers, plate washers, incubators, fridges, freezers, pipettes, etc).
- Support engineering team in implementation and maintenance and upkeep of CMMS system.
- Operate ERP system to raise requisition, deal with invoices when work is complete in a timely manner.
- Own identification, risk assessment and plan implementation of control measures surrounding hazardous tasks at MediaWorks related to laboratory activities.
- Own creation, implementation and training of emergency and on-call procedures to be followed on environmental monitoring systems & LN2 generation.
- Support identification and storage of required spares, consumables, and tools for activities in the laboratories.
- Manage stocks of critical engineering spares and equipment.
- Provide status and look ahead reports related to laboratories and equipment as needed.
- Write, review and update maintenance SOPs and one point lessons for equipment and monitoring and utility systems.
- Work within the GLP requirements.
- Support site projects as assigned.
- Provide support to Facilities, lab operations and Capital Project Engineering as required.
