If so, Skillnet Training Academy is looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Skills Coach to join our expanding team in the East and West Midlands!
As a Skills Coach, you will play a vital role in the full apprenticeship journey — guiding, inspiring, and supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress confidently into their future careers. You’ll deliver high-quality teaching, learning, coaching, and assessment across a range of technical and non-technical apprenticeship programmes, ensuring apprentices are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment (EPA) and consistently supported throughout their programme.
You will be the driving force behind learner progress — planning meaningful sessions, providing developmental feedback, collecting evidence, completing progress reviews, and ensuring full compliance with DfE, Ofsted, GDPR, and internal quality expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering High-Quality Coaching
- Plan engaging learning sessions and workplace visits
- Deliver face-to-face and remote coaching aligned to apprenticeship standards
- Ensure active learning takes place at least every 28 days
- Supporting Learner Journey & Progress
- Conduct formal 12-week progress reviews with learners and employers
- Maintain accurate ITPs, OTJT hours, actions, and development plans
- Monitor EPA readiness through skills scans and reflective discussions
- Assessment, Evidence & Feedback
- Gather and map evidence across a range of assessment methods
- Provide clear, constructive marking and developmental feedback
- Support Functional Skills learning, preparation, and exams
- Quality, Compliance & Systems
- Maintain accurate records on eTrack
- Ensure all activity meets funding, Ofsted, and quality requirements
- Promote safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, and GDPR compliance
- Employer & Learner Support
- Conduct workplace inductions and H&S vetting
- Liaise with employers to align on- and off-the-job training
- Provide CEIAG to support learner progression

- Experience with quality, standardisation, or improvement activity

Identify a director and a member of the Senior Management Team for the overall responsibility for Safeguarding our learners. To maintain a Safeguarding and Prevent Risk Assessment and Action Plan that identifies risks and highlight actions taken to protect learners. By education and training to develop all learners’ resilience to abuse and radicalisation, to know how to stay safe on and offline and to develop the skills needed to keep themselves safe. By establishing an induction training programme that includes detailed Safeguarding and Prevent modules for both learners and staff. To adhere to IT security policies and practices and review regularly to encourage safe working practices for all. To keep colleagues well-informed with updates about Safeguarding and Prevent delivered through frequent 121’s, team meetings and hot topics.
