We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same. Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression. Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Mechanical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Providing a comprehensive engineering service to the site, ensuring compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety procedures, and the Company IMS.
  • Maintaining maximum equipment availability through safe, efficient planned maintenance, fault resolution, and technical support for projects, commissioning, and hand-over activities.
  • Responsible for the service, maintenance, and repairs on installations such as ventilation systems (AHU, Intake / extract), heating and cooling systems (thermal wheels, FCUs etc.) and water system assets, such as booster sets, chlorifiers, water heaters etc.
  • Completing accurate documentation (work logs, asset history, permits-to-work) and liaising with planning teams to align activity with GxP guidelines, SOPs, PPM schedules, KPIs, and site requirements.

To be successful for this Mechanical Engineer role you must have:

  • Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation within the scope of the contract.
  • A recognised trade training scheme (desired) and strong competency across mechanical and associated electrical resets.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering.
  • IOSH Working Safely, IPAF, Asbestos Awareness, and relevant technical certifications (e.g., C&G Competent Person Mechanical & Pressure Systems, Level 3 NVQ Heating & Ventilation, Level 2 H&V Industrial & Commercial Installations).
