Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression. Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for an Electrical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault diagnosis on electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, system panels, and Building Management Systems.
  • Carrying out maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, motors, compressed air systems, and water treatment plant.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting general building services including plumbing, drainage, and building systems.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, site procedures, and safety standards, while maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing required documentation.
  • Working as part of a shift team, responding to breakdowns and ensuring continuity of operations across the site.
  • Effectively communicating with the site team, client representatives, and stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and site issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and reliability of plant and equipment.
  • Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identifying and escalating complex issues to specialist teams or management as required.

To be successful for this Electrical Engineer role you must have:

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation).
  • Proven experience as a Multiskilled Shift Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems and building services.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
