We are looking for an Shift Electrical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same. Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression. Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for an Shift Electrical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation. As the Shift Electrical Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services. The Shift Electrical Engineer, will be responsible for: * Provide a maintenance service, covering electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines. * Carry out both reactive and planned (proactive) maintenance to ensure operational uptime and system reliability. * Perform modifications, calibrations, and installations of electrical and mechanical systems as required. * Maintain, repair, and optimize plant and equipment to improve reliability and maintainability. * Ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) and service levels are achieved. * Complete all maintenance documentation, reports, and compliance records accurately and on time. * Liaise with external contractors and suppliers where necessary, ensuring standards are upheld. * Report deficiencies or failures in equipment, systems of work, or procedures that may pose risks to health, safety, environment, or service delivery. * Ensure your own work and the work of any supervised staff is completed in a safe, professional, and compliant manner. * Adhere to company policies, procedures, and statutory compliance regulations at all times. To be successful for this Shift Electrical Engineer role you must have: * NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) or equivalent electrical/mechanical qualification. * A strong understanding of Statutory Compliance in building services and facilities maintenance. * Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), with the ability to maintain a safe working environment for self and others. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. * Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in time-critical environments. * Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting, documentation, and team coordination. * Competence to work across a rotating 3-shift system. * A proactive attitude toward learning and development; further training may be provided to ensure full competency in all areas.
