Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression. Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Mechanical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all mechanical systems.
- Support the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of critical mechanical infrastructure, including CRAC units, HVAC systems, AHUs, pumps, and chilled water systems.
- Conduct mechanical fault‑finding, diagnostics, and repair work to maintain uptime and site resilience.
- Work closely with the engineering and on‑site facilities teams to ensure compliance with operational standards, SLAs, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports, ensuring documentation meets client standards.
- Support in emergency response situations, including mechanical plant failures or environmental alarms.
- Carry out routine inspections and performance checks to ensure optimal plant operation.
To be successful for this Mechanical Engineer role you must have:
- Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (C&G, NVQ, HNC or equivalent).
- Strong mechanical systems knowledge including chilled water, HVAC, and cooling plant.
- F‑Gas qualification (2079) – desirable.
- Chiller‑bias background or experience working on chilled water systems – desirable.
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
