We are seeking a Solution Architect to lead discovery and architecture for migrating a retail group's digital platform into a new Microsoft Azure environment. The role involves assessing ~50 applications, producing Low-Level Designs (LLDs), and supporting a parallel build from scratch migration strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery of 2025 PaaS applications and integrations including Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
- Design architecture using Azure App Service, Azure API Management, and Azure SQL Database.
- Implement DR strategy across UK South Azure Region and UK West Azure Region.
- Design security using WAF and Application Gateways.
- Review .NET / TypeScript code to identify hard-coded dependencies.
- Run a pilot migration to estimate effort, cost, and timelines.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Azure PaaS services.
- IaC using Terraform or Bicep.
- Azure networking (private endpoints, private DNS zones).
- Azure SQL database migration experience.
- CI/CD pipeline implementation.
Preferred
- Experience with parallel migration strategies and zero-downtime cutovers.
- Strong stakeholder communication.
- Background in software development.
