This is one of the most exciting specialist lenders in the UK mortgage market right now. They're going through an exciting period of change, new branding, new positioning, and a real appetite to shake up how they show up against the bigger names. If you want to join somewhere at a pivotal moment rather than somewhere set in its ways, this is it. They’ve built a reputation for being different. Multiple brands under one roof, covering everything from everyday mortgages to complex, larger cases that most lenders wouldn't touch. The culture backs that up too, close knit teams, low ego, people who've been there years because they actually enjoy the place.
This isn't a role where you wait to be told what to do. You'll be expected to have a view on where the market is moving and bring pricing changes to the table before someone else asks for them. You'll sit close to senior stakeholders, with day to day influence over how each brand is priced and positioned. Rather than sitting at a desk producing reports for someone else's decisions, you'll own the pricing recommendations that go into those decisions, and see them through from proposal to launch.
What's the role?
- You'll be the pricing specialist across a set of lending brands spanning residential, buy to let and commercial.
- Reviewing market positioning on rate and criteria against the peer group, and flagging where the business needs to move.
- Owning the pricing of complex, larger loan cases and making the call on how they should be structured.
- Leading pricing changes from proposal through to sign off and market launch, working with Marketing, Sales, Key Accounts and New Product Development to get it right.
- Producing the analysis that sits behind pricing papers and strategic recommendations.
- Supporting the wider proposition, both for new business and retaining existing customers.
- Coaching assistant PMs and product analysts in the team.
Who are they looking for?
- 3+ years in mortgage pricing, including exposure to larger, more complex cases.
- A track record of working cross departmentally to deliver product launches at pace.
- Strong product data analysis and market competitor analysis skills, ideally used to support business cases.
- Experience taking pricing from inception through to sign off.
- Solid Excel skills and a detailed understanding of the UK mortgage market and its regulation.
