Role: Credit Risk Analyst – Credit Strategy Location: Leicester – 1 day a week in office Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + Bonus and great benefits! You will be joining a FTSE 100, global household name retailer who have a £1.3 billion credit portfolio and a customer base of over 3 million but join a small, close knit and friendly team. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work to join a growing Credit and Risk Analytics team who are responsible for analysing all aspects of our their credit portfolio and use their vast data to drive insight on how they can optimise their customer proposition and business profit. You’ll be at the heart of understanding their 3 million credit customers and designing, testing and implementing strategy changes to help grow the business. They offer comprehensive, tailored training, a chance for you to work across any area of the credit risk lifecycle you like and even move teams internally to gain experience in different business areas. People have joined them from some of the biggest and most well-known financial companies due to their welcomed change of pace (it has taken them 9 months from idea generation to launch of a brand-new product!), the family feel culture and the chance to really make a difference. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has great data analysis skills and a real curiosity about solving business problems. You’ll enjoy getting stuck into complex problems, confidently analysing a range of data using industry standard tools (e.g. SQL, SAS, Excel, PowerBI) and working on cross functional projects to deliver great products for our customers. You will: Translate information into genuine insight that can be used to make informed business decisions Comment on trends, adding value through contributing ideas and solutions to any problems or opportunities identified. Identify risks and opportunities in the current processes and rules through complex analysis, using multiple data sources. Serve as the expert on credit risk and data, while best representing the commercial value and regulatory aspects of lending activity. Build and present reporting and strategy recommendations relating to credit & risk at internal and external meetings where required. So, if you have: Experience of working in a data analyst position Proven track record of using information to provide business insight A history of using data strategically A demonstrable track record of analysing and reviewing data coupled with an ability to then make recommendations to gain buy in and implement change Experience of working with coding platforms such as SQL/SAS/Python or similar A natural problem solver with a proven ability to work logically You will have an eye for detail combined with the drive to get under the skin of complex business challenges, joining the dots across multiple sources of insight Enjoy working with a diverse multi-discipline team to deliver results at pace Strong verbal and written communication skills Then we want to speak with you – and so will they.
