Cook/Chef Job Type: Part-time Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week (Monday – Friday Our client is seeking a part time Cook to join their team within their day child care service. Role You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and be responsible for the preparation of food, in line with agreed menus, and cleaning of kitchen equipment. Reporting to the Nursery manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of seasonal menu’s, taking account of any special dietary needs. You will maintain adequate stores and food stuffs in appropriate storage conditions, order all food and maintain monthly records for stocktaking purposes of all food stuff, ensure the kitchen and all kitchen equipment is kept clean and tidy and all crockery and utensils are washed-up, using the dishwasher as appropriate. You will clean and defrost fridge and freezer as necessary and prepare and cook simple baked goods with children. You will attend staff meetings and training sessions as required and be responsible for participating in all self development activities, including appraisals.
