UK South coverage - covering London down to Plymouth etc. May be asked to cover our Northern engineer and some overseas travel may be needed.
There are no out of hours or emergency on call required for this role. No overtime paid.

Are you a highly organised Engineer with experience of working in a field based service and maintenance role? A service driven professional and pragmatic Field Service Engineer is required to join our well established SME client, based near Heathrow with a friendly team and a worldwide reputation for providing service excellence in niche markets. Our client designs and develops sophisticated equipment for use in research and medical laboratories.
You will cover the South of the UK with occasional travel to the North of England when required. You will preferably have a knowledge of working with medical or lab based equipment, to provide maintenance, service, repairs and installation of company equipment and customer and distributor training on and off site.
The successful candidate will be willing to travel and have the ability to organise own diary. All product training will be given, however, candidates must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar engineering role.
Responsibilities:
- Organising and attending site visits.
- Fault finding and repair of company equipment.
- Surveying and installation of company systems.
- Product training for customers and distributors.
- Routine maintenance and calibration of products.
- Responding to customer calls/emails.
- Maintaining all documentation relating to the sales and service activities, both computerised and otherwise.
Skills/Experience required:
- Engineering/technical background.
- Experience of fault finding using reasoning and diagnostic skills.
- Ideally experience of supporting medical devices (desirable).
- Understanding of IT infrastructure.
- Strong customer focus.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Full Clean UK/EU Driving licence.
- Based in the South East area or willing to travel.
