We are seeking a Senior SAP Payroll & Time Lead to support a large‑scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA (H4S4) technical migration programme. This role holds end‑to‑end ownership of the Payroll and Time workstream, leading functional design, migration assurance, testing and deployment activities in line with overall programme objectives.

This is a senior, client‑facing leadership role requiring deep functional expertise in SAP Payroll and Time, hands‑on migration experience, and the ability to operate confidently in a complex, governance‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Payroll and Time workstream across the full migration lifecycle, including design, build, testing, cutover and hyper care.
  • Act as the primary functional SME for Payroll and Time, providing S/4HANA best‑practice guidance and migration leadership.
  • Drive impact assessment and solution design for Payroll and Time during the migration from SAP ECC to H4S4.
  • Partner closely with technical, integration and Basis teams to ensure data readiness, system stability and successful migration outcomes.
  • Oversee payroll data validation, reconciliation and parallel payroll runs, ensuring accuracy, compliance and control.
  • Manage senior client stakeholders, providing clear status updates, issue resolution and decision support.
  • Proactively identify, manage and mitigate functional risks, issues and dependencies across the Payroll and Time domain.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation and client‑specific payroll and time requirements.
  • Support and govern testing activities, including SIT, UAT and payroll‑specific assurance cycles.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience with SAP HCM Payroll and Time Management.
  • UK Payroll expertise is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record delivering SAP S/4HANA (H4S4) or ECC technical migration programmes.
  • Deep understanding of payroll schemas, rules, time evaluation and payroll integrations.
  • Significant experience with payroll data migration, reconciliation and parallel payroll testing.
  • Confident client‑facing leader, able to engage, influence and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in complex, governance‑driven delivery environments.
