Murex Technical Consultant – Risk Platform Upgrade
Location: London / Hybrid
Contract: 12 months
Rate: Up to £700 per day (Umbrella)
Skillfinder International is working with a leading global financial institution to recruit an experienced Murex Technical Consultant for a major Murex upgrade and Enterprise Risk Management programme .
This is a hands‑on technical role supporting the delivery of a Murex platform upgrade while also developing and enhancing the existing production environment across Market Risk, Credit Risk and Trade Pricing .
The successful consultant will work closely with traders, Credit and Market Risk teams, Business Analysts, SMEs, technology teams and the Murex vendor.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct gap analysis between the current and target Murex versions , identifying and resolving impacts across upstream and downstream systems.
- Contribute to the overall technical and implementation strategy for the Murex upgrade.
- Define and support the regression testing strategy , including defect investigation and triage.
- Lead and support junior team members throughout testing and delivery.
- Work with SMEs and Business Analysts to design and implement new Market Risk and Credit Risk solutions within Murex.
- Deliver enhancements across MLC, Market Risk and Trade Pricing capabilities.
- Configure and develop Murex workflows, Datamart reporting and interfaces.
- Work with vendor and technology teams on data migration to cloud environments .
- Provide project reporting, identify impediments and communicate progress to key stakeholders.
- Investigate production issues, perform root‑cause analysis and coordinate follow‑up actions with development teams and vendors.
- Maintain technical runbooks and identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
Murex Technical Expertise
We are looking for strong hands‑on experience across:
- Murex Credit Risk: PFE, CVA and SIMM
- Murex Market Risk: VaR, DV01 and NOP
- MLC and Market Risk configuration
- Trade interfaces: TDS and LTS
- Market Data interfaces: MDIT
- Static data interfaces
- Workflow configuration and development
- Datamart configuration and reporting
- Trade pricing
- Products including IRD, FXD and SCF
Additional Technical Skills
- Linux / Unix and Bash scripting
- SQL
- Control‑M
- Azure DevOps (ADO)
- ServiceNow
- Confluence
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years' hands‑on Murex experience within technical delivery and the software development lifecycle.
- Previous experience delivering a Murex version upgrade , ideally for a risk platform using MLC and Market Risk modules .
- Strong knowledge of Murex Credit Risk and Market Risk configuration.
- Experience across requirements gathering, technical design, feasibility analysis and implementation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable working directly with traders, Risk Managers, SMEs, technology teams and senior stakeholders.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline is preferred.
