Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will work within a multidisciplinary delivery team to drive quality across the application life cycle. The role will focus particularly on test automation using Playwright, alongside end-to-end testing across a complex, highly integrated eCommerce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain and execute automated tests using Playwright, ensuring effective automation coverage across key customer and business journeys.
  • Perform end-to-end, functional, integration and regression testing across website, mobile, order management, payments, fulfilment and delivery capabilities.
  • Contribute to end-to-end test strategies, test planning and execution across multiple interconnected applications and services.
  • Identify, investigate and manage defects through to resolution, working closely with development and engineering teams.
  • Analyse test execution results, identify quality risks and provide clear, actionable findings to project stakeholders.
  • Drive improvements in test automation, testing efficiency, coverage and overall quality assurance processes.
  • Work closely with developers, product teams and other cross-functional stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development life cycle.
  • Support the adoption of emerging testing technologies and agentic capabilities to accelerate automation and software delivery.
  • Contribute to quality metrics and reporting covering areas such as test execution, automation coverage and defect resolution.

Skills & Experience

  • Advanced experience in test automation, with hands-on Playwright expertise highly desirable.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test suites and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end, functional, integration and regression testing.
  • Experience testing complex applications involving multiple systems, integrations and customer journeys.
  • Good understanding of test management, defect management and quality improvement processes.
  • Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Retail, eCommerce or online grocery experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Experience testing areas such as payments, order management, fulfilment or delivery systems would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
