We're looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer with strong Google Cloud expertise to join a major financial services technology environment in Glasgow. This is a 12+ month contract role working 5 days per week onsite, ideal for someone who enjoys designing and delivering scalable cloud platforms in complex enterprise environments.
Working within a high-performing engineering team, you'll play a key role in building and evolving Google Cloud-based platforms, integrating cloud and on-prem infrastructure while ensuring security, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, test, and deploy cloud platform and infrastructure solutions
- Develop and validate cloud architecture proof-of-concepts
- Integrate cloud and non-cloud infrastructure environments
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and platform teams
- Contribute to key technical decisions across multiple teams
- Assess and improve cloud architecture performance and security
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) IS A MUST
- Advanced expertise in Google App Engine (GAE) Cloud infrastructure and cloud platform architecture
- Experience designing and deploying enterprise cloud platforms
- Terraform

- Experience working in large enterprise or financial services environments
