Overview

We are supporting a major investment management client with a series of middle-office transformation initiatives focused on OTC derivatives and collateral. The role sits at the intersection of operations, technology, and change, with a strong emphasis on Aladdin and front-to-back derivatives lifecycle knowledge. This role will suit a Business Analyst or Senior Analyst who has grown up in derivatives operations and transitioned into change, transformation, or platform implementation work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Business Analyst supporting middle-office change initiatives across OTC derivatives
  • Work closely with operations, technology, and front-office stakeholders to analyse and improve front-to-back derivatives workflows
  • Lead requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and solution design
  • Support Aladdin-related initiatives, including system migrations, enhancements, and operating model changes
  • Provide SME input across:
  • Trade lifecycle (capture, confirmation, settlement)
  • Collateral and margining (bilateral & cleared)
  • Post-trade events and reconciliations
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and test scenarios
  • Support UAT, implementation, and go-live activities
  • Contribute to regulatory and operational initiatives (e.g. EMIR, uncleared margin rules, Basel III)
  • Act as a bridge between business users, vendors, and technology teams
  • Required Experience

    • Proven experience in a Business Analyst / Change / Transformation role within asset or investment management
    • Strong hands-on knowledge of OTC derivatives, ideally including IRS, CDS, FX, or equity derivatives
    • Solid understanding of middle-office or post-trade operations
    • Experience working on systems change or platform implementations
    • Comfortable operating as a subject matter expert, not just a documenter
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

    Highly Desirable

    • Aladdin experience (particularly derivatives, collateral, or middle-office functionality)
    • Experience with collateral platforms and vendors such as DTCC, Acadia, Markit, TriResolve, TriOptima
    • Background in derivatives operations before moving into change or BA work
    • Exposure to large transformation or operating model change programmes
