Location: North West Tasmania

Position Type: Multiple Permanent, full time and part time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight. *hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (pro rata) with a 12% superannuation contribution. Visa sponsorship and relocation support available for eligible UK/IE candidates.

The Position: We are seeking applications from Dual Qualified Registered Nurse-Midwives to join our client in delivering high-quality, women-centred Maternity Services. This role is based in the Outpatients Maternity Service, which includes antenatal care and postnatal care in the community. You would have the opportunity to work across both North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community hospital and scenic outreach services.

Health Service: The North West Maternity Services (NWMS) is primarily located at the North West Regional Hospital, with satellite and community-based services delivered across Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), King Island District Hospital, Smithton District Hospital and West Coast District Hospital. The service covers the full scope of maternity care including antenatal clinics, parenting education classes, pregnancy and postnatal assessment services, a 4-bed birthing suite, 20 bed inpatient ward, 8 bed special care nursery and extended care midwifery services for women when they discharge home after birth. Dedicated lactation services are also offered as well as connections through allied health colleagues for social work, women’s health physio and diabetes services and perinatal mental health.

The Role: You will be able to join a group of clinicians with diverse skills and a common culture of safe patient and staff care. Provide advice, care, and support to women during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period including care of the newborn. Show initiative, being adaptable and able to respond and adjust easily to change. Be resilient, persevering to achieve your goals in the face of obstacles and remaining calm and in control under pressure. Strengthen health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate midwifery care in partnership with women, their families and other health professionals.

Essential Criteria: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and as a Registered Midwife. Working with Children Registration.
