We are assisting our highly regarded client located in Melbourne's inner west to source nursing staff for their well-established Maternity Unit. This facility is approximately 10km from the CBD, known for its maritime history, heritage buildings and city skyline views. The hospital is a very reputable facility offering a range of other services including emergency, surgical, renal dialysis and community.
The Position
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clinical, non-clinical, and social needs, including identification of at-risk women and babies. Accurately document findings in the consumer's health record and care plan, and implement consumer-specific risk minimisation strategies.
- Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for all care delivered, practicing within scope and in accordance with organisational policies and professional standards.
- Recognise changes in consumers' condition and take necessary action including reporting and escalation seeking appropriate assistance.
- Effectively develop discharge plans that reflect the needs of women, babies, families and their significant others and demonstrates an understanding of the role of community providers.
- Role model best practice and reference latest research.
- Perform other midwifery duties as required.

Essential Criteria
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Experience as a registered Midwife.
- Demonstrate effective organisational skills, particularly with respect to time management, delegation and supervision.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Police & criminal history check.
- Working with Children check if requested.
- Immunisation health clearance prior to employment.
- Sponsorship applications accepted for international applicants.
