The Opportunity: Following a period of sustained global growth and a strategic internal restructuring, we are seeking a visionary Technical Director to join my client's London leadership team. This is a high-impact role designed for a technical heavyweight who thrives in the "Mission Critical" space and wants to shape the future of a rapidly expanding engineering firm.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of experts, driving technical excellence across high-stakes projects—primarily within the Data Centre sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Act as the ultimate technical authority for major projects, ensuring innovative, resilient, and highly efficient MEP designs.
  • Strategic Growth: Support the London leadership in executing the new structural vision, identifying market opportunities, and scaling the engineering team.
  • Project Oversight: Lead the delivery of complex, large-scale projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring "gold standard" quality.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to high-profile clients, translating complex technical challenges into clear strategic solutions.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Foster a high-performance culture by mentoring senior and associate engineers, driving professional development across the department.

Candidate Profile

  • We are looking for a leader who is either Mechanically or Electrically biased, but possesses a holistic understanding of multi-disciplinary MEP integration.
  • Experience: Proven track record at a Technical Director or Associate Director level, specifically within Data Centres (Hyperscale/Colocation) or Complex Healthcare environments.
  • Leadership: Exceptional "people-first" leadership qualities with the ability to navigate internal restructuring and inspire a growing team.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of project profitability, resource management, and the London property market.
  • Mindset: A proactive, "challenger" mindset—someone who isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of traditional engineering to achieve better outcomes for clients.
