Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

Location: Oxford (Hybrid Working Available – 2 days working in the office)

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to take on more responsibility and work on innovative, sustainable projects? Our client, a respected multidisciplinary consultancy, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their established building services team in Oxford.

About the Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you\’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across a variety of sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, science & tech, and heritage. You\’ll play a key role in project delivery, team collaboration, and client communication while supporting junior staff and contributing to the company\’s reputation for engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead mechanical design packages from concept through to completion
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various RIBA stages
3. Coordinate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders
4. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal technical development
5. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and sustainability standards
6. Produce technical drawings, calculations, and specifications

About You:

1. Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
2. Working towards or already achieved CEng (IMechE or CIBSE)
3. Solid experience in building services consultancy
4. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and public health systems
5. Proficient with relevant software such as Hevacomp, IES, Revit, and AutoCAD
6. Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
