About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading Building Services Consultancy in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled and client‑facing engineer to take ownership of key projects and contribute to the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable building services solutions across commercial, residential, education, and healthcare sectors.

You’ll play a pivotal role in leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of high‑quality electrical design work in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design on projects from concept to completion.
  • Produce detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for electrical systems — including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and data networks.
  • Attend client and design team meetings, providing technical input and coordination support.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers, promoting technical development and best practice.
  • Ensure design compliance with UK building regulations and relevant standards.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, sustainability, and architectural teams to deliver coordinated solutions.
  • Contribute to project bids, fee proposals, and business development when required.

About You

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (IET or equivalent).
  • Proven experience delivering electrical building services designs within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems design and industry standards.
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g. Amtech, AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux).
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • Proactive, commercially aware, and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
