We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead day-to-day operations on a live school project. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality programme of works, reporting directly to the Project Manager.
About the Project
- Demolition of an existing building
- Re-cladding works
- Internal and external refurbishments
- Coordination of multiple trades in a live school environment
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise, and coordinate all site activities and subcontractors
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards
- Maintain strong communication with the Project Manager, providing regular progress updates
- Oversee logistics, planning, and sequencing of works, particularly during demolition and cladding phases
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and maintain H&S compliance
- Liaise with the school and other stakeholders to minimise disruption
- Manage site documentation, permits, and daily records
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction or refurbishment projects
- Strong knowledge of demolition, cladding, and refurbishment processes
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Ability to work professionally and safely in a live school environment
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
