We are working in partnership with an established and highly respected structural engineering consultancy as they enter an exciting new phase of growth with the launch of a brand-new regional office. This is a rare opportunity for a structural engineering professional to lead, shape, and grow a new business unit with the full backing of a nationally recognised consultancy.
The business has a strong reputation for technical excellence, long-standing client relationships, and a collaborative culture. They are now seeking an entrepreneurial leader to spearhead this new venture and take full ownership of its strategic direction.
The Role
As Head of Structural Engineering / Regional Director, you will be responsible for establishing and developing a new office from the ground up. You will have complete autonomy to define the office location, determine the project sectors you focus on, and shape the team and culture around you.
Supported by a highly experienced national leadership team, you will combine technical credibility with commercial acumen to grow a profitable and sustainable operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the vision, strategy, and identity of the new office
- Develop and maintain a strong client network, generating new business and repeat work
- Lead business development activity, including bidding, fee proposals, and client presentations
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing structural engineering team
- Oversee technical delivery and quality across all projects
- Manage financial performance, resourcing, and long-term growth plans
- Act as a senior ambassador for the consultancy within your chosen region
Project & Sector Focus
The consultancy is completely open on the types of projects and sectors the new office undertakes. This will be shaped around your experience, strengths, and client relationships, whether that be commercial, residential, mixed-use, infrastructure, or specialist sectors.
