Skilled Careers are pleased to announce we have been selected to search for an M&E Quantity Surveyor on behalf of an established, but rapidly growing M&E Sub-Contractor based in London. Due to an impressive amount of work winning and growth, my client has an exciting opportunity within the Commercial Team.
The Company:
They are an established Sub-Contractor with excellent client relationships and repeat business who have also seen an immense amount of growth while still being selective and achieving amazing profit margins year after year. They currently have six live projects across London with values from £2m up to £40m in a variety of sectors including commercial, residential, life science and fit-out.
The Opportunity:
You will be working beneath an experienced Commercial Manager who loves to utilise his excellent experience to develop his commercial teams. Once you have settled into the company there is real opportunity to be promoted to a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor within the near future. You will be responsible for managing an M&E package on a large commercial, residential, life science or fit-out project.
Role & responsibility:
- Working beneath an experienced Commercial Manager, managing your own M&E Package on a large Commercial, Residential, Life Science or Fit-Out Project based in London.
- Develop and encourage project team performance encouraging and ensuring that main contractual obligations and or strategies are executed and regularly reviewed.
- Complete and submit monthly CVR and progress reports.
- Demonstrate understanding of internal and external tender strategies / build up and work to the profit plan.
- Agree external valuations / cash flow to maximise project value.
- Work with the Commercial Manager to agree and produce main and subcontract final accounts.
The Person:
- Must have 2 to 6 years’ experience in quantity surveying. This can include contractor, fit-out and/or developer experience (main contractor or fit-out preferable).
- Able to work under pressure, and run your own package.
- M&E experience is not essential but is desirable.
- Degree in Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Management.
- Strong communication skills, confident in report writing and actively engaging in meetings.
The role offers flexible working from home one day a week with site visits which are based in around London as and when required.
