Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE + Car Allowance + Package
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our Midlands regional team, leading quality delivery on one of the UK’s largest and most complex new-build prison projects — a £750m scheme forming part of the Ministry of Justice Constructor Services Framework.
This is a rare opportunity to shape and implement the quality strategy for a landmark public sector development, with an M&E value of around £220m. The project combines large-scale new build construction with an extension to an existing facility, scheduled to complete in 2028.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the development and implementation of the project Quality Management System (QMS).
- Drive a culture of quality excellence across design, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, ensuring works meet contract and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with project, engineering, and delivery teams to prevent defects and ensure right-first-time delivery.
- Oversee Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure all QA documentation meets client and regulatory expectations.
- Engage with supply chain partners to ensure quality standards are achieved and continuously improved.
- Report on project quality performance and implement corrective and preventative actions where required.
About You
We’re looking for someone with strong technical insight and a proactive, collaborative approach. You’ll be confident engaging with multiple stakeholders and have a genuine passion for raising standards.
You should have:
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer on large-scale construction or MEP projects (ideally £100m+).
- A solid understanding of ISO 9001 and NEC contracts.
- Experience developing and managing project-specific quality systems.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Relevant qualifications such as ISO Lead Auditor, Chartered Quality Professional, or an engineering discipline degree.
About the Company
You’ll be joining one of the UK’s leading building services engineering contractors — a forward-thinking, innovative business with a national footprint and a projected turnover of £500m.
The Midlands region is one of the company’s fastest-growing divisions, expected to deliver over £200m in the next three years. With a reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects across the public and private sectors, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career with a company that values technical excellence and continuous improvement.
What’s in It for You
- Work on one of the UK’s most high-profile public sector developments
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Genuine long-term career prospects within a growing regional business
- A collaborative, quality-driven culture that rewards innovation and excellence
