Are you a customer-focused Resident Liaison Officer looking to work on the cutting edge of social housing? We are seeking a dedicated RLO to support a major Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) framework across Oxfordshire. This is a fantastic Temp-to-Perm opportunity, allowing you to join a fast-growing green sector focused on making homes warmer, greener, and more energy-efficient for residents.

THE OFFER

  • Pay Rate: £22.57 per hour
  • Contract: Temp-to-Perm (Permanent contract offered following a successful 12–13 week probationary period).
  • Location: Covering property stock across Oxfordshire (Field-based).
  • Office Base: Initially office-based out of Swindon for the first 6 months, before transitioning to a more local office closer to Oxford.
  • Travel: Mileage and business expenses are fully covered.

THE ROLE (SHDF & Retrofit Focus)

Working on an SHDF contract is highly rewarding but structurally different from standard planned maintenance. You will guide residents through complex energy-saving measures, helping them understand the process and benefits of External Wall Insulation (EWI), Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV Panels, and advanced ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resident Education: Conducting home visits to explain the benefits of decarbonisation works and teaching residents how to maximise new green technologies (e.g., smart thermostats).
  • Surveys & Access Coordination: Carrying out pre-work condition surveys and securing high access rates for specialist contractors to keep the delivery programme on schedule.
  • Expectation Management: Acting as the primary, reassuring point of contact for residents during invasive energy-efficiency upgrades inside and outside their homes.
  • Conflict Resolution: Swiftly and professionally resolving any on-site resident queries or concerns to maintain high customer satisfaction scores.
  • Compliance Reporting: Updating internal project trackers and maintaining accurate resident communication files to ensure compliance with strict funding requirements.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: Proven experience as an RLO or TLO (Tenant Liaison Officer) within Social Housing. Experience specifically with SHDF, EWI, or domestic Retrofit works is highly advantageous.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to break down technical green energy information into simple, empathetic, and easy-to-understand terms for residents.
  • Mobility: A full UK Driving Licence and a reliable vehicle are mandatory for travelling to properties across the Oxfordshire patch.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel) for logging live site data and resident access trackers.
  • Attitude: Empathetic, professional, and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping communities improve their day-to-day living conditions.

If you are a proactive RLO ready to build a stable, long-term career in the decarbonisation sector across Oxfordshire, apply now with your updated CV for an immediate interview.
