About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Manager to support the delivery of high-quality M&E systems across multiple live projects. Working alongside another Building Services Manager, the role will be based from the Reading office and cover sites in the Thames Valley, Outer London, and Kent, with short-term involvement in projects located in Bristol and Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate MEP works across several live projects.
- Ensure all systems meet design, quality, and compliance standards.
- Oversee subcontractors, resources, and timescales to maintain programme delivery.
- Report progress to senior management and support project teams.
- Implement testing, commissioning, and quality control processes.
- Conduct regular reviews with MEP contractors and monitor procurement and labour schedules.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, fire-stopping, and builders’ work requirements.
- Provide technical support and challenge design or installation issues as required.
- Use IT systems to assist with planning, coordination, and reporting.
About You
- Strong technical knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems (ideally 50/50).
- Proven experience managing MEP works in construction.
- Sound understanding of current building regulations and quality standards.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible to travel across regional project sites.
