An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor delivering a landmark new build project valued in excess of £100m. The successful candidate will be one of the commercial leads on the project and will have significant exposure to senior stakeholders and long-term progression opportunities within a well-established business.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for managing key commercial aspects of a major new build construction project from procurement through to final account. You will work closely with the wider project and commercial teams to ensure financial performance, risk management, and contractual compliance are delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management across major work packages on a large-scale new build project
- Oversee procurement, subcontract management, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Manage cost reporting, forecasting, and financial performance
- Support and mentor junior commercial staff within the team
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to drive project success
- Ensure contractual obligations and commercial risks are effectively managed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor environment
- Strong background delivering large-scale new build construction projects
- Previous experience on projects valued £50m+ preferred
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Stable career history with recognised contractors
