We are seeking an experienced and motivated Carpenter to join our maintenance team, delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across social housing properties. Working in occupied and void homes, you'll carry out a wide range of carpentry repairs and installations while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out responsive and planned carpentry repairs within social housing properties
- Repair, replace, and install:
- Internal and external doors
- Door frames and architraves
- Skirting boards
- Kitchens and worktops
- Flooring and timber structures
- Locks, ironmongery, and door furniture
- Windows and timber repairs
- Complete first and second fix carpentry work
- Undertake minor multi-trade tasks where required, including basic plumbing, tiling, decorating, or patch plastering
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Maintain accurate records of completed work using handheld devices or paperwork
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and well maintained
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience working as a Carpenter, ideally within social housing, property maintenance, or responsive repairs
- Strong knowledge of first and second fix carpentry
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
