We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of a prestigious bespoke housing development in Dorset comprising 52 individually designed private homes. This is a key role for a hands‑on professional with a strong background in high‑end residential construction, quality delivery, and site leadership.
The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with the Construction Director, commercial team, consultants, and subcontractors to drive performance and maintain the exceptional standards expected of a bespoke development.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall management and coordination of the site team and subcontractors
- Delivering the project to programme, budget, and quality targets
- Maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship and finish throughout
- Ensuring full compliance with H&S, NHBC, Building Regulations, and company procedures
- Managing site logistics, sequencing, and short‑term programmes
- Liaising with clients, consultants, inspectors, and local authorities
- Leading by example on health & safety, quality control, and site presentation
- Resolving technical and build‑ability issues efficiently and proactively
- Reporting progress regularly to senior management
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or Site Manager on bespoke or high‑end residential developments
- Track record of successfully delivering multi‑unit housing schemes
- Strong technical knowledge of traditional build and/or high‑quality modern construction methods
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Proactive, detail‑focused, and quality‑driven approach
- Comfortable managing demanding programmes and multiple stakeholders
Qualifications & Certifications
- SMSTS (essential)
- First Aid at Work
- CSCS (Black or Gold preferred)
- NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Management or equivalent (desirable)
