My client is looking for an experienced Senior MEP Manager to take responsibility for the day to day delivery of building services on a large scale residential scheme. Reporting into the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical and electrical packages on site, overseeing subcontractors, driving progress against programme and ensuring works are delivered safely, to a high standard and in line with design, quality and client requirements. This role would suit someone with a strong site presence, excellent technical knowledge and the confidence to challenge subcontractors, supply chain partners and internal teams where required.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of mechanical and electrical packages from design stage through to completion
- Oversee day to day site operations relating to building services
- Chair MEP progress meetings and dedicated subcontractor meetings
- Review design information, technical submittals, RAMS and safe systems of work
- Coordinate MEP works with the wider construction programme
- Manage testing and commissioning from early planning through to practical completion
- Carry out QA inspections across first fix, second fix and final works
- Track certification, test results, commissioning records and handover documentation
- Liaise with design, commercial, health and safety, logistics and site teams
- Manage permanent utilities from design coordination through to final installation
- Support O&M manual production in line with client requirements
- Attend site walkarounds with Building Control, Warranty Providers, Clerk of Works and client teams
- Monitor subcontractor performance, labour levels, materials and progress on site
- Review programmes, lookaheads, daywork sheets and change control relating to MEP works
- Ensure site safety, housekeeping and quality standards are maintained at all times
Experience Required
- Proven experience delivering MEP packages on large residential schemes
- Experience working on projects over £10m or 200 plus residential units
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Strong knowledge of testing, commissioning and handover processes
- Good understanding of current building services regulations
- Ability to interrogate contractor and subcontractor programmes
- Commercial awareness and experience supporting package management
- Confident dealing with clients, consultants, Clerk of Works and Warranty Providers
- Experience with Golden Thread, Building Control, BREEAM and HQM requirements would be beneficial
- SMSTS required
- Relevant CSCS or skills card required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Procore
