We are currently working with a well-established main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Design Manager to join their team based in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Design Manager with a strong main contracting background and proven experience delivering projects with complex facades and cladding packages. The role will play a key part in managing the design process across pre-construction and delivery stages, ensuring technical compliance, buildability, and programme alignment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the design process from tender through to project completion
- Coordinating architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams
- Taking ownership of facades and cladding design, ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards
- Managing design risk, value engineering, and technical problem-solving
- Supporting project teams to ensure designs are practical, coordinated, and commercially viable
Key requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Senior Design Manager (or an experienced Design Manager ready to step up)
- Strong technical knowledge of facades and cladding systems
